Na Internet, as rotas são anunciadas como prefixos: um sistema autónomo diz aos vizinhos, por BGP, que consegue entregar tráfego para, por exemplo, 62.103.0.0/16. Esta ferramenta procura um prefixo na nossa cópia diária da tabela de encaminhamento global e mostra três coisas:

Anúncios exatos: que AS origina exatamente este prefixo. Mais do que uma origem (MOAS) é normal em serviços anycast e em algumas redes multihomed; caso contrário, é suspeito.
Rotas abrangentes: anúncios menos específicos que o contêm. O tráfego segue a rota mais específica; a abrangente conta se a mais específica desaparecer.
Rotas mais específicas: anúncios dentro do prefixo, que podem pertencer a outras redes (clientes – ou um sequestro).

Para cada rota anunciada é também verificado o RPKI: se uma ROA autoriza o AS de origem.

A tabela é a vista do coletor de rotas da APNIC. A maior parte da tabela global vê-se igual de qualquer lado, mas uma rota filtrada antes do coletor não aparece.

Perguntas frequentes

Porque é que o meu /24 não aparece e um /16 sim?

Os seus endereços são anunciados como parte do bloco maior e ninguém anuncia o /24 em separado. É o caso normal para a maioria dos clientes de um operador.

O que é um sequestro por prefixo mais específico?

Alguém anuncia um prefixo mais longo dentro do seu espaço de endereços. Como os routers preferem a rota mais específica, o tráfego vai para ele. O RPKI com comprimento máximo estrito torna esses anúncios inválidos.

Posso introduzir um único endereço?

Sim. A ferramenta mostra a rota anunciada mais específica que o contém.
